Faith and Patience

In Lake Wobegon “All the women are strong, all the men are good looking, and all the children are above average” Sadly, we know only 49% of the children can be above average or the median to be precise.  It’s true of children and it’s true of investors.  If you believe brains are what is […]

It’s a Marathon

Usain Bolt is the fastest man in the world when it comes to sprinting.  The gun fires and Bolt is off and in less than 10 seconds Usain has crossed the finish line.  Unlike the mad dash speed of a sprinter, reaching you financial goals is more like running in a marathon where pacing yourself […]

“Hell, yes!” or “No”

Greg McKeown, author of the book Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less conducted a session at a NAPFA conference in San Diego last spring and the one thing that stuck in my head was the advice that if the answer to the question isn’t “Hell, yes!” then the answer should be “No”. While Greg was […]

Free Money

Posted by Bryan Taylor Everyone wants free money but I know too many of my peers who don’t care enough about their money to get it. Yes, it takes time, effort, extensive budgeting- and most importantly discipline, but if you are in control of your money you can truly make it work for you- even […]

What You Can Change

The old prayer goes…”God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.” You cannot change the markets; they have a life of their own. But you can change the way you see them and the way […]

No Shortcuts

Sometimes it happens. Someone comes into my office wanting to know about their investments and how we manage money but doesn’t want to go through the financial planning process. The have done their own planning or don’t want to do the work to build a real plan. That’s like going to the doctors office and […]

Investing Should Be Scary

It is always amazing how stock market tops attract so many investor dollars.  Just when things are at their riskiest point flows of funds into stocks skyrockets.  We convince ourselves that the part will last forever and we hate being left out. The flip side is the head scratcher of a down market, where no […]

So Your Didn’t Win the Lottery

Okay, so you didn’t win the lottery. May I suggest some steps you can take to achieve financial nirvana without relying on luck. If you have credit card debt pay it off. If you can’t pay in full this month, then pay an extra $50 or $100. At least pay the minimum plus any interest charges. […]

All That is Gold Does Not Glitter

Boring, boring, boring. That’s how you might describe one of the best investments my kids will ever profit from. Back in 1990 my children’s grandparents bought them 50 shares of Disney common stock for around $500 per child. The kids received the dividend check each quarter and thought it was neat getting a little extra […]

Changing Lanes

Why is it when we get stuck in traffic the other lane always seems to be moving faster? It is sometimes like that with investments we own.  Ours is merely creeping while the other guy’s is moving right along…until we switch lanes.  Then we seem to be stuck again in the wrong lane

BRYAN TAYLOR, CFP®

Owner & President  | Fiduciary Financial Advisor

I graduated from Clemson University and began my financial planning career shortly after with a small advisory firm on the ground floor — learning the basics of financial and tax planning and running a financial advising business.

At the same time, I enrolled in the University of Georgia Terry College of Business’ Executive Program in Financial Planning and completed the coursework at nights and on weekends. Soon after, I completed my CFP® certification and joined the family business.

A year after I joined the firm, we opened our second location in Mt. Pleasant, SC where I reside with my family. Over the next 10+ years I cherished the opportunity to learn and grow the family business with my father. We worked hard to build the firm into what it is today — something we’re both proud to say we accomplished together.

Today, I serve in a Senior Advisor and Planner role, working together with our team on all financial plans and strategies. By collaborating we provide fiduciary financial and tax planning and asset management to our clients within a fee-only business model — which reflects our commitment to putting our clients’ interests above the next dollar.

When I’m away from the office, I enjoy playing golf, boating, pulling for the Clemson Tigers, and relaxing on the beach with my wife, Laura, and daughters Riley and Ramsey.
